Some partnerships are meant to be, and to improve with time.
This is the case of Ogyre and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli who, for the second year in a row, have committed to and put into practice concrete actions to protect the sea.
In 2022 we launched the “fishing for litter” campaign with which Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli pledged to gather - with Ogyre’s global fleet - 6.000 kg of plastic waste; at the same time we created social contents named “ocean spotlight”, in which the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team members shared their personal bond with the sea.
In 2023 team Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli decided to strengthen the partnership, increasing its plastic gathering of 10.000 additional kg, to reach a total of 16.000 kg within 2024.
But there is more. Coming up next is the newborn Sea Forward series that will feature specific content aimed at enhancing awareness on oceanic pollution. The contents will not be limited to communication but will also cover education, art and science.
More specifically, a workshop with an international artist will be organized to bring together learning and creativity and to motivate and involve all participants in the process of cleaning the sea, in hope to create alternative solutions.
In the presence of the artist, participants will have the opportunity to assist to the full creative process, by which a piece of abandoned trash can become a new and functional object.
Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli and Ogyre will also join a university to publish a research project on the impact of marine waste on the environment. This study will explain and quantify the effects of microplastics on marine life and sea beds.
The future of the project will be fueled by an intense collaboration in the name of a healthy ocean. We can’t wait to start.
